Deron Williams, Carlos Boozer Inducted To Hall Of Fame

SALT LAKE CITY — Utah Jazz legends Deron Williams and Carlos Boozer were inducted into the Basketball Hall of Fame on Saturday for their time with the 2008 gold medal-winning USA Olympic team.
Nicknamed the “Redeem Team,” Williams and Boozer helped Team USA reclaim Olympic glory after a disappointing bronze medal finish in Athens in 2004.

Williams and Boozer Join Hall of Fame
While playing for the Jazz, both Williams and Boozer secured spots on the 2008 Olympic roster.
Williams represented the U.S. after just three seasons in the NBA, while Boozer made his second Olympic appearance in China.
Team USA dominated the competition in Beijing, finishing with a perfect 8-0 record, defeating Spain 118-107 in the gold medal game.

Williams contributed 8.0 points and 2.8 assists per game, shooting 44 percent from the field and 37 percent from three-point range.
The point guard later added a second gold medal to his resume in London in 2012.
Boozer played limited minutes during the tournament, averaging 3.3 points and 1.9 rebounds en route to his first Olympic title.
Jazz minority owner Dwyane Wade also played a key role on the Redeem Team, leading the squad with 16.0 points per game.
Williams And Boozer’s Time with the Jazz
The Jazz selected Williams with the third overall pick in the 2005 NBA Draft.
During his six seasons in Utah, he averaged 17.3 points, 9.1 assists, and 3.2 rebounds per game, earning two All-Star selections and two All-NBA honors in 2008 and 2010.
Boozer joined the Jazz in 2004 and quickly became one of the franchise’s most impactful free agent signings.
Despite battling injuries, he posted strong numbers over six seasons, averaging 19.3 points, 10.5 rebounds, 2.9 assists, and 1.0 steals across 354 games.
Former Jazz players John Stockton, Karl Malone, Adrian Dantley, Pete Maravich, Bernard King, Spencer Haywood, Gail Goodrich, and Walt Bellamy are also members of the Basketball Hall of Fame.
Longtime coach Jerry Sloan was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2009.
