With Playoffs Clinched, Snyder Focused On Getting Better

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – When asked about how he feels about his team clinching a playoff berth, Utah Jazz head coach Quin Snyder began his statement with two simple words.

“I’m happy,” he said with a laugh.

While it’s almost surely a huge relief to have an appearance in the postseason locked up, Snyder says it’s not going to affect the Jazz’s mentality.

“It doesn’t change how we’re approaching the game,” said Snyder. “There are so many unpredictable variables right now, as far as where people finish from one to eight.”

He’s right. As it stands now, almost none of the seeds for the playoffs are confirmed. The Golden State Warriors and Denver Nuggets will almost certainly be the top two seeds in the Western Conference. The rest of the seeding from three to eight is still up for grabs.

“It’s really a unique year in that sense,” said Snyder.

The fifth-year head coach continued to say he’s not focusing too much on who his team could play, leaving that guessing up to the media.

“I’ll think about it when the time comes. Right now, I think our focus, my focus, our team’s focus is on being as good as we can be when it comes time to play in the playoffs,” said Snyder.
