BYU basketball draws Big Ten opponent in Maui Invitational bracket reveal

PROVO – For the fifth time in BYU basketball history, the Cougars will be playing in the Maui Invitational.

BYU is one of eight teams in the 2026 Maui Invitational field that will be firing up shots on the soft rims of the Lahaina Civic Center.

On Wednesday, the Maui Invitational bracket was announced for the 2026 event.

BYU will face Washington to open the 2026 Maui Invitational

BYU’s path to a Maui Invitational title will begin against a Big Ten team. The Cougars will face the Washington Huskies, coached by former Utah State head coach Danny Sprinkle.

BYU will face the Huskies on Monday, November 23, at 3 p.m. (Mountain Time) on ESPN2.

The last time BYU faced Washington on the hardwood was in the first round of the 2013 NIT. BYU won that game 90-79. Washington leads the all-time series over BYU, 9-10.

The following day, BYU will face either Ole Miss or Clemson.

BYU defeated Clemson last year on a buzzer-beater from Rob Wright III at Madison Square Garden. This year, the Cougars have former Clemson Tiger Jake Wahlin on their roster.

For the third and final game, BYU could face either Big 12 foe Arizona, VCU, Providence, or Colorado State.
