BYU Football’s 2026 Recruiting Class Is Off To Strong Start

PROVO, Utah – BYU football is pacing to have its best recruiting class under head coach Kalani Sitake.
The 2026 class is up to nine commitments and ranked No. 29 in the team rankings by 247Sports (as of May 20).
There are still seven months until Signing Day, but these days, the core of classes on the recruiting trail comes together in the spring and summer.

The contact period will end on May 24, and then there will be a “Quiet Period” on May 29. But don’t mistake the word “quiet” for a slow month.
June will be busy with BYU football hosting recruits on official visits.
A decade ago, January was the hot spot for official visitors. Then, for a few years, it was December as programs adjusted to the Early Signing Period.
Coming out of the COVID pandemic in 2020, recruits make the bulk of their visits in the summer.
BYU Football Commits: Class of 2026
Before those visitors begin rolling through Provo in the coming weeks, here’s a snapshot of the nine players currently committed to BYU football in the class of 2026.
Sefanaia Alatini
Athlete
St. Francis High | Mountain View, California
BYU picked up a commitment from Alatini on May 20. Alatini has been a prospect that BYU has pursued for more than two years.

A good athlete who could play defensive back or linebacker at the college level.
Alatini picked BYU over reported offers from Arizona, Utah, Washington, Cal, Boise State, Minnesota, and others.
Justice Brathwaite
Cornerback
Higley High School | Gilbert, Arizona
Brathwaite was BYU’s first commitment in the class of 2026 last December. The 6-foot, 160-pound cornerback is the son of former BYU running back Reynaldo Brathwaite (2002 to 2003).
BYU cornerbacks coach Jernaro Gilford was a teammate of Reynaldo as a player.
Braithwaite picked BYU over offers from Big 12 foes Arizona State, Kansas, and Iowa State. Other offers included San Diego State, UTEP, and UNLV from the Group of Six ranks.
BYU coaches Jay Hill, Kelly Poppinga, and Gilford visited Brathwaite earlier this month during the contact period.

Brathwaite had three interceptions for Higley High School in Arizona last season.
Legend Glasker
Wide Receiver
Lehi High School | Lehi, Utah
Glasker is a 6-foot-2, 175-pound athlete who earned a three-star rating from 247Sports. He’s the 23rd overall prospect in the state of Utah for the class of 2026 by 247Sports.
Glasker picked BYU over reported offers from Cal, Utah State, UNLV, Washington State, Hawaii, Colorado State, and San Jose State.
Last season at Lehi High School, Glasker had 37 receptions for 781 yards and 10 touchdown grabs.

He’s the cousin of BYU linebacker Isaiah Glasker.
Like Brathwaite, Glasker shared a picture of an in-home visit from BYU’s coaching staff during the contact period in May.
Ty Goettsche
Tight End
Cherry Creek High School | Englewood, Colorado
Goettsche is a three-star tight end prospect in the class of 2026. He picked BYU football over reported offers from Arizona, TCU, Texas Tech, and Utah from the Big 12. He also had reported offers from Auburn, Florida, Penn State, and other Power Four programs.

Goettsche preps at the same high school as former BYU tight end Andrew George (2005-2009).
The 6-foot-7, 225-pound Goettsche plans to play one season at BYU in 2026, before serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
Brock Harris
Tight End
Pine View High School | St. George, Utah
Harris is one of the highest-rated commits BYU has landed in the internet era—his 247Sports Composite rating of 0.9694 makes him the third-highest recruit to BYU since 2000.
The 6-foot-6, 238-pound Harris announced his commitment to BYU in a hat ceremony at Pine View High School. Harris picked BYU over a final six, including Georgia, Miami, Michigan, Oregon, and Utah.

Harris is a prospect who BYU has been pursuing for nearly five years, as he was a regular at BYU summer camps.
The recruitment heated up over recent months with Harris taking in-game visits during the BYU football season and a recent men’s basketball game at the Marriott Center against Utah in March.
Harris, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, plans to serve a mission before enrolling at BYU.
He also has ties to BYU; his father, Todd, was a former left-handed pitcher for the BYU baseball program in the 90s.
Bott Mulitalo
Offensive Tackle
Lone Peak High School | American Fork, Utah
Bott Mulitalo was previously committed to the Oregon Ducks as a defensive line prospect before switching his football path to an offensive lineman and a future BYU Cougar.
The 6-foot-4, 275-pound Mulitalo picked BYU over offers from Arizona, Arizona State, Iowa State, Texas Tech, Utah, Oregon, Auburn, Nebraska, USC, Tennessee, Texas, Texas A&M, Washington, and others.
Mulitalo points to his relationship with BYU offensive line coach TJ Woods and head coach Kalani Sitake as key reasons he committed to the Cougars.
The four-star prospect plans to enroll at BYU this January.
Mulitalo earned OL MVP honors at the Under Armour Next camp in Salt Lake City earlier this month.
Terrance Saryon
Wide Receiver
Evergreen High School | Evergreen, Washington
BYU flipped Saryon away from the hometown Washington Huskies.
The Cougars offered Saryon during the contact period and made him a priority in their recruiting efforts.

Saryon was committed to Washington before flipping to BYU football.
247Sports ranks Saryon as the fifth-best prospect in the state of Washington for the class of 2026. In the 247Sports Composite, Saryon is a three-star prospect and the 877th-ranked recruit in the nation.
Kaneal Sweetwyne
Quarterback
Skyridge High School | Lehi, Utah
A dual-threat signal-caller, Sweetwyne accounted for 29 touchdowns (19 passing, 10 rushing) during the 2024 season at Skyridge High School.

Sweetwyne was BYU’s first offer. He also reports a scholarship offer from Utah State.
Sweetwyne is 6-foot-4, 205 pounds and earned 6A Honorable Mention recognition by the Deseret News last season.
PJ Takitaki
EDGE
Lehi High School | Lehi, Utah
PJ Takitaki committed to BYU last December. However, that isn’t stopping Power Four programs from offering the EDGE rusher.
Takitaki added an offer from Minnesota over the weekend, while also being invited to the Army All-America game.

The 6-foot-4, 230-pound Takitaki is the nephew of former BYU football star and NFL linebacker Sione Takitaki.
Takitaki had nine sacks and an interception during his junior season at Lehi High School.
