BYU Football Releases Depth Chart For Texas Tech Game

PROVO, Utah – The BYU football depth chart for game nine against the Texas Tech Red Raiders is out.
BYU enters the Big 12 road clash with a perfect 8-0 overall record, and a 5-0 mark in Big 12 play, along with a No. 8 ranking in the latest AP Top 25 poll.

The Cougars are gearing up to face a Texas Tech team that is also ranked in the Top 10 of the AP Top 25 rankings, currently at No. 9.

The ninth depth chart of the 2025 BYU football season gets everyone ready for a road Big 12 matchup against Texas Tech.
Jojo Phillips returns to the depth chart
BYU redshirt sophomore wide receiver Jojo Phillips is back on the depth chart. Phillips has been dealing with an injury since week two against Stanford.
He has been practicing and the expectation is that he will be available against the Red Raiders. Phillips is a co-starter with Cody Hagen.
The return of Phillips also put Tei Nacua behind Chase Roberts.
Anisi Purcell removed from the BYU football depth chart
A notable name missing from this week’s BYU football depth chart is junior nose tackle Anisi Purcell. Purcell was banged up in the win at Iowa State.
During that game against the Cyclones, Purcell recorded a sack on Rocco Becht. He’s not listed on this week’s depth chart.
BYU head coach Kalani Sitake was not asked about Purcell’s status during his Monday media availability.
The backup to Keanu Tanuvasa at nose is now Weber State transfer Kaufusi Pafoke.
New pecking order at Strong Safety
BYU is expecting to have junior Raider Damuni back in the lineup. Damuni has been out since suffering an injury in the first quarter of the win at Arizona last month.
With Damuni back, he’s not listed at strong safety.
That starting role continues to be Faletau Satuala, who earned a National Player of the Week honor for his performance in the win over Iowa State two weeks ago.
Damuni is listed as the second-string player behind Tanner Wall at Free Safety.
The backup to Satuala is Talan Alfrey, and making his depth chart debut this season is redshirt freshman Jarrinn Kalama, a former wide receiver out of Wasatch High, as the third-string strong safety.
Marcus McKenzie was removed from the cornerback depth chart
Marcus McKenzie is not listed on the depth chart this week. McKenzie has missed the past three games for the Cougars.
