BOULDER, Colorado – BYU redshirt senior wide receiver Chase Roberts eclipsed a significant career milestone in the Cougars’ road win over Colorado.
The senior caught his second touchdown of the day in the third quarter, giving the Cougars their first lead. It was the first two-touchdown day of his career.
The four-yard TD put Roberts over the 2,000 yards receiving mark for his career. He is the 15th Cougar to reach the milestone.

Roberts finished the night with team-highs in catches (5) and yards (49), as BYU did just enough to stave off the Buffaloes in the three-point victory.
He has 16 grabs for 234 yards and three touchdowns in 2025.
About BYU’s Chase Roberts
Roberts signed with BYU as a three-star recruit coming out of American Fork High School. The two-time Deseret News 6A All-State first team performer ended his prep career with 3,709 receiving yards and 40 touchdowns, including 1,717 yards and 18 touchdowns as a senior.
He began his Cougar career in 2021 after serving a full-time mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Calgary, Alberta.
After redshirting in 2021, Roberts played 11 games (3 starts) in 2022. He finished with 22 grabs for 357 yards and three touchdowns, flashing the athleticism and body control that are hallmarks of his game. He was the sixth BYU freshman and first since Cody Hoffman to have a 100-yard receiving game.

Roberts’ game reminds me of a blend between Adam Thielen and Kendrick Bourne — crafty, reliable, and competitive. I expect his production… pic.twitter.com/N0G8ltzkt5

Roberts etched his name in BYU history when his one-handed, game-winning touchdown lifted the Cougars past the Arkansas Razorbacks 38-31 the following season.
He started 11 of 12 games in 2023, ending the year with 42 catches for 573 yards and five scores.
The 6’4, 210-pound wideout was a defense’s nightmare last season. He set career-highs in catches (52), yards (854), and yards per catch (16.4) as a junior, leading the team in all three categories.
Roberts started all 13 games as a team captain and was named to the All-Big 12 Third Team by College Football Network and Phil Steele after notching four games with 100+ receiving yards.
