BYU Football Lands Three Offensive Linemen From Transfer Portal

PROVO, Utah – BYU football added reinforcements along the offensive line from the transfer portal.

On Monday night, BYU announced the signings of three transfers: Paki Finau from Washington, Jr Sia from Utah State, and Zak Yamauchi from Stanford.

BYU football lands Washington transfer Paki Finau

Finau is 6-foot-5, 310 pounds, and a former four-star recruit in the 2024 recruiting cycle. BYU recruited Finau out of high school, before he ultimately signed with Washington.

Finau comes to BYU with three years of eligibility remaining. He started four games at left guard for the Huskies during the 2025 season.

Jr Sia signs with BYU

Jr Sia started 10 games at right tackle this past season for the Utah State Aggies. The former Mountain Ridge High School standout signed with Utah State during the 2023 recruiting cycle.

Sia has two years of eligibility remaining in his collegiate career.

Stanford’s Zak Yamauchi picks BYU

Rounding out the trio of offensive linemen to sign includes Stanford transfer Zak Yamauchi, a former Bishop Gorman product out of Las Vegas.

After serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Yamauchi started three games at guard during his true freshman season in 2025.

Yamauchi has three years of eligibility remaining.

The additions of Finau, Sia, and Yamauchi bring BYU’s transfer portal class to five commits for the 2026 cycle. They join Oregon wide receiver Kyler Kasper and USC tight end Walker Lyons.

BYU football finished the 2025 season ranked 13th nationally in sacks allowed (16) on its way to a 12-2 record and a Pop-Tarts Bowl victory over Georgia Tech.
