TV info, kickoff time announced for BYU-TCU matchup on General Conference Saturday

PROVO — There’s a kickoff time for the next BYU football game on the 2026 schedule. It’s a kickoff time of great interest to BYU fans.

For the first time in 21 years, BYU will play on the Saturday of the Semiannual General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.

The good news is there won’t be a conflict with General Conference and BYU football.

BYU football game at TCU on General Conference Saturday receives kick time

No. 9 BYU will take on the TCU Horned Frogs in Fort Worth at 5 p.m. (MDT) on Saturday, October 3. The game will be televised on ESPN or ESPN2.

The Semiannual General Conference for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints no longer has a Saturday evening session. There will be a two-hour morning session from 10 a.m. to noon, then the afternoon session will run from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

That gives fans a one-hour buildup to get ready for the BYU football game.

Radio pregame on KSL NewsRadio, the legacy home of the Cougars, will begin at 4 p.m. from Fort Worth with The Voice of the Cougars, Greg Wrubell, on the call alongside analyst Hans Olsen.

BYU is currently 3-0 on the season entering a bye week. Their next contest will be against TCU on October 3.

TCU is 2-1 overall this season. They lost their Week 0 opener in Ireland to North Carolina, then have reeled off two straight wins against Grambling and Arkansas State. The Horned Frogs face UCF in Orlando this Saturday, before welcoming BYU to Cowtown the following week.

BYU’s last visit to Fort Worth was not a good one, as the Cougars were crushed by a score of 44-11 to Sonny Dykes’ Horned Frogs. Last season, BYU got some revenge by defeating TCU 44-13 in Provo.

BYU hasn’t won in Fort Worth since 2006, when the two programs were in the Mountain West Conference together.
