BYU/Utah Basketball Game In Provo Receives New Tip Time

PROVO, Utah — We have a new tip time for the second BYU/Utah men’s basketball game in the 2024-25 season.
On Saturday, March 8, BYU and Utah will square off at 8 p.m. (MST) inside the Marriott Center in Provo. The in-state rivalry will be televised on ESPNU.
Utah defeated BYU 73-72 in overtime at the Huntsman Center on January 18.
BYU will host Utah at the Marriott Center on Saturday, March 8, at 8 p.m. (MST)
Initially, the Big 12 scheduled the rivalry matchup in Provo for an 8:30 p.m. tip-time with a TV designation of ESPN, ESPN2, or ESPNU. The new tip time moves the start up by 30 minutes.
It will be the first time in 18 years that BYU and Utah close out the regular season against one another.
BYU is currently 6-6 in Big 12 play, while Utah is 5-7 in their first year in the league.
Utah has won two consecutive games over BYU. The last BYU win was two years ago at the Marriott Center on December 17, 2022, when the two programs were in the WCC and Pac-12.
BYU defeated Utah 75-66 in that meeting two seasons ago.
The meeting earlier in the year was the first between the two rivals as Big 12 foes. Utah’s Ezra Ausar scored 26 points and shot 11-of-15 from the field to lead the Utes over BYU, who only hit 26% from beyond the arc.
BYU leads the all-time series against Utah 134-131.
BYU Basketball game at Arizona receives tip time, TV designation
Along with the rivalry game against Utah, BYU’s game at nationally-ranked Arizona has a tip-time and TV designation. BYU will face Arizona inside the McKale Center at 8 p.m. (MST) on Saturday, February 22, on ESPN.
When the conference schedule was announced initially, the BYU/Arizona game had a tip time of 6 or 8 p.m.
BYU will be making its first visit to Tucson since 2009. Arizona defeated BYU at the Marriott Center on February 4, 85-74.
