The Cougars are almost certainly eliminated from reaching the CFB Playoff through an at-large bid. BYU will learn its 2025 bowl fate on Sunday, December 7.

First Quarter

Texas Tech got the football first and quickly entered BYU territory. A Faletau Satuala sack forced third and long, leading to a Red Raiders punt.

BYU's defense gave up three first downs and let Texas Tech get into BYU territory, but ultimately got the stand.

On third down, BYU called a timeout and brought in their edge rushers to bring in heat in Nusi Taumoepeau and Tausili Akana.

BYU RB Sione Moa and WR Reggie Frischknecht were among the starters in the Big 12 Championship Game.

Bear's pass floats, causing TE Carsen Ryan to take a big hit. He walked off the field with trainers. Ryan is currently being attended to by trainers while sitting on the bench.

BYU dialed up the "special" play call that was one of the few bright spots offensively in the game in Lubbock.

Parker Kingston completes a pass to Carsen Ryan for a 22-yard gain.

Good to see Ryan back on the field so quickly.

BYU offensive coordinator dialed up two trick plays on the opening drive, showing they are willing to pull out all the stops for a win today.

The Cougars became the first team to score on its opening drive against the Red Raiders this season when LJ Martin found a big hole for a ten-yard touchdown run.

The TD capped a 14-play, 90-yard drive that took nearly seven minutes of game time.

What a drive by BYU.

14 plays, 90 yards – T.O.P.: 6:50

BYU takes a 7-0 lead with 4:58 to go in the first quarter.

BYU's offense was dominant on that first series.

Second Quarter

Texas Tech made it 7-3 BYU after hitting a 23-yard field goal to open the period.

Three-and-out on drive number two for BYU.

— Mitch Harper (@Mitch_Harper) December 6, 2025

Those corner routes were a go-to for Behren Morton and the Texas Tech offense in the first meeting against BYU in Lubbock.

BYU's cornerbacks have got to prevent giving up big plays on those routes.

BYU LB Isaiah Glasker entered the medical tent.

BYU's special teams against Texas Tech …

— Mitch Harper (@Mitch_Harper) December 6, 2025

The fake punt call was too early. I get that the defense has allowed Tech to get into BYU territory on each drive so far, but that wasn't the move right there.

— Mitch Harper (@Mitch_Harper) December 6, 2025

Texas Tech's drive that started in BYU territory after a fake punt ended with no points.

Stone Harrington missed a 48-yard field goal.

— Mitch Harper (@Mitch_Harper) December 6, 2025

Jack Kelly records his 10th sack of the season.

First time in the Kalani Sitake era (since 2016) that a BYU player has registered a double-digit sack total in a season.

The last BYU player to do it was Bronson Kaufusi in 2015. pic.twitter.com/nHIfkKCM6Z

— Mitch Harper (@Mitch_Harper) December 6, 2025

Coming out of the two-minute timeout, BYU has a high snap over Bear's right shoulder on third down, resulting in a 13-yard loss. BYU punts again.

— Mitch Harper (@Mitch_Harper) December 6, 2025

Friendly bounce goes to Texas Tech for an additional 19 yards after Tanner Wall forced a fumble.

That moment kind of like the missed takeaway/interception opportunity in Lubbock.

— Mitch Harper (@Mitch_Harper) December 6, 2025

After the first drive, this game has settled into a feel like the first game. A hampered BYU offense (Martin in Lubbock, Bear today) up against a big time defense that might be too much.

— Nate Dowdle (@NateDowdle) December 6, 2025

After the 90-yard touchdown drive on the first offensive series of the game, BYU has produced 24 yards of offense since.

Third Quarter

BYU opened the second half with a hard-nosed drive into field goal range. Unfortunately, Will Ferrin pushed his 46-yard field goal attempt wide left.

Texas Tech led 13-7 with 9:29 left in the third.

Will Ferrin misses a 46-yard field goal attempt to cap off BYU's opening drive of the second half.

— Mitch Harper (@Mitch_Harper) December 6, 2025

The speed of Texas Tech's defense was on full display during that series.

— Mitch Harper (@Mitch_Harper) December 6, 2025

BYU gets the defensive stand on fourth down! Staying alive.

Strange decision by Texas Tech to not try to make it a two-possession game with a field goal attempt.

— Mitch Harper (@Mitch_Harper) December 6, 2025

Coming out of a timeout, Bear Bachmeier throws an interception to Texas Tech's Ben Roberts.

Red Raiders take over in the end zone, and one play later, punch it in with a touchdown.

Brutal sequence for BYU.
