PROVO, Utah – BYU basketball freshman Caleb Lohner continues to get better with each game he plays in.
On Thursday night, in the first home game with BYU fans in the Marriott Center stands, Lohner gave the paying crowd a treat.

Off an assist from Spencer Johnson, Lohner had a two-hand slam dunk that he put down with authority.

The dunk came in the first half of action and built BYU’s lead to 30-25, with 3:12 remaining in the first half. A crowd of fewer than 2,000 fans erupted after the dunk.
BYU Basketball has a rising star in Caleb Lohner
A 6-foot-9 forward from Wasatch Academy in Mt. Pleasant, Lohner has played his best basketball as the home stretch to the postseason rolls on.
He’s had some close-call dunks this season that could have been worthy of a poster, but they didn’t fall. This one against USF, Lohner left no doubt.
In the first half of action, Lohner scored 13 points and pulled down six rebounds in 14 minutes of action.

Does this dunk rank among some of the all-time great dunks in BYU history? Probably not. It’s not up there with the likes of Mike Hall’s throwdown against Air Force, Trent Plaisted’s jam at Colorado State, but Lohner is showing as a youngster that he has endless potential and hops that can jump out of the gym.
