PROVO, Utah – This year’s BYU basketball team might be the best three-point shooting team the Cougars have ever had.
On Saturday in BYU’s win over San Francisco, the Cougars made 12 three-pointers in the 14-point victory. The 12 three’s marked the 14th time this season that BYU has made 10-plus three-pointers in a game. That is now a program record.
#BYU has now set the school record for number of games in a season with 10+ three-pointers made. The total this year after Saturday night's win over USF is at 14.#BYUhoops @kslsports

The three-point line wasn’t introduced into college basketball until 1986, and the previous high for a season with 10-plus threes in a game was four years ago during the 2015-16 season.
BYU is currently the number three-point shooting team in America for field goal percentage, shooting over 42 percent from beyond the arc.
Last year, BYU was 249th in the country in percentage from deep. Shooting a measly 33 percent.
Even our coaches make it rain!! 👌☔️

As a team, BYU has made 277 three’s through 26 games this season. The leaders are Jake Toolson and TJ Haws who have made 121 of those three’s. Toolson is currently shooting an uncanny 49 percent from deep with Alex Barcello after him at 48 percent among players who have attempted at least 50 three’s.
BYU will now take their three-point shooting clinic on the road next week to a Southern California trip at Loyola Marymount next Thursday then San Diego two days later.
