Kickoff Time, TV Channel Announced For BYU Football Game Against Boise State

PROVO, Utah – BYU football has landed a day game for their upcoming rivalry matchup with Boise State. When BYU hosts the Broncos on October 9 at LaVell Edwards Stadium in Provo, it will kick off at 1:30 p.m. (MT) and be televised on either ABC or ESPN.

This is the first time in the history of the BYU-Boise State rivalry that the two teams will meet in the daytime. Typically, BYU and Boise State have always kicked off at either 7 p.m. or later, with many of those games taking place on either a Thursday or Friday night.
For BYU, this will be their first day game in 2021. Each game has kicked off at 7 p.m. or later throughout the first five weeks of the season, with the first four games kicking off at 8:15 p.m. or later.
So for those Cougar fans looking to come home from a game at a decent hour, this is a welcomed change.
The last time BYU played on a 1:30 p.m. ABC or ESPN broadcast was in 2019 when they hosted the Washington Huskies. That was the last time BYU lost a home game. BYU has since reeled off 13 consecutive home victories.
BYU is currently 4-0 on the season and ranked No. 13 in the latest AP Top 25 poll. The Cougars will travel to Utah State in Logan on October 1 before facing Boise State.
