2025 BYU Soccer Schedule Released

PROVO, Utah – BYU soccer enters the 2025 season looking to build off last year, which resulted in an NCAA Tournament appearance for a young squad.

The path to getting back to the upper tier of the sport for BYU is officially out as the 2025 schedule was released on Wednesday.

BYU soccer will open the regular season on the road at Minnesota in Minneapolis on Thursday, August 14. That match against the Gophers will be the first of five contests against programs that reached the NCAA Tournament last season.

However, the visit to Minnesota will be the only one on the road. The rest are in Provo at BYU’s South Field.

BYU’s home opener will be against UCLA on Saturday, August 23. Two years ago, BYU pulled off one of the best regular-season wins in program history by taking down then-No. 1 UCLA.

Then BYU hosts a pair of SEC programs in Auburn on Friday, August 29, and Arkansas on Tuesday, September 2.

BYU soccer welcomes in-state rival Utah State to South Field on September 6. The Aggies have won three of the last four meetings, with the other contest being a tie in 2022. BYU hasn’t defeated Utah State since 2016.

Big 12 play

The Cougars open year three of Big 12 Conference play against Arizona State in Tempe on Saturday, September 20. BYU’s Big 12 home opener is against West Virginia on September 24.

The Big 12 Conference teams play 11 league games, which means each squad misses playing four teams in the league. Those teams include defending Big 12 Champion TCU and runner-up Texas Tech.

The other teams that BYU missed on the Big 12 schedule include Iowa State and Kansas State.

All 11 matches take place over seven weeks in a 1-2-2-1-2-2-1 cadence.

BYU closes the regular season on Thursday, October 30, against rival Utah in Salt Lake City.

The Big 12 Championship begins on November 3 and goes until November 8 in Fort Worth, Texas.

BYU finished last season with a 9-7-5 record, resulting in a first-round loss against Santa Clara. The Cougars have reached the NCAA Tournament in seven consecutive seasons and 12 of the last 13 years.

BYU soccer is led by head coach Jennifer Rockwood, who enters her 31st year leading the program.
