Timpview High Athlete Decommits From BYU Football

PROVO, Utah – Timpview High athlete Hezekiah “Kiah” Anahu-Ambrosio has de-committed from BYU football.
The 5-foot-11, 190-pound prospect who plays running back, linebacker, and safety for the T-Birds, Anahu-Ambrosio, committed to BYU last October. Since his commitment to the Cougars, he’s received additional FBS offers from Mountain West programs in Hawaii, Nevada, and Utah State.
Last week, he was on an unofficial visit to the Arizona Wildcats. The trip to Tucson coincided with his 7-on-7 team, the Pink Outlaws, in Arizona for a 7-on-7 tournament.

Anahu-Ambrosio announced his decision to move off his BYU pledge on social media.

“First and foremost, I would like to start off by saying thank you to all the coaches and staff at BYU. Thank you for noticing what I had, recruiting me and letting me be apart of Cougar Nation. One of the things that stood out to me most at BYU, other than the amazing fans, was their stability, the coaching staff and there ability to develop the running back position.
“After a lot of thinking and talking it out with my family I have decided that it is in my best interest to de-commit from BYU, doing so will allow me to sit down and figure out what is best for me and my future.
“I will always have love for the Brigham Young University and my family. I wish nothing but the best for its players, coach’s and the fans. Mahalo!!”
BYU football has three commits in the class of 2023
With Anahu-Ambrosio moving off his commitment, BYU is now down to three commitments in the class of 2023. Anahu-Ambrosio is the first de-commitment in the class.
Of the three commits, Anahu-Ambrosio’s Timpview teammate Pokaiaua Haunga is a verbal pledge to BYU. All three of BYU’s commits are in the top 1,000 prospects in the industry-standard 247Sports Composite ratings for the class of 2023.
The two other commits are defensive linemen Emmanuel Waller (Chelsea, Alabama) and Stanley Raass (Skyridge High).
