BYU Kicker Will Ferrin Extends Consecutive Field Goals Record

PROVO, Utah – Will Ferrin is already one of the most decorated and accomplished place-kickers in BYU football history. Yet, he continues to raise the bar for a program familiar with reliable kickers.
Ferrin extended his streak of consecutive field goals made to 22 after going 4-for-4 in a 27-3 win against Stanford. He joined Owen and Ethan Pochman, Jason Chaffetz, Joe Liljenquist, Justin Sorenson, and Leonard Chitty as the only Cougars to make four kicks in a game.
He has not missed a kick since September 28, 2024, when he went 2/3 in a win at Baylor.

Ferrin began the season with a bang, going 2/2 in the opener against Portland State. His 56-yard boot in the third period equaled Owen Pochman’s program record set against New Mexico in 2000.
Ferrin has three of the four longest field goals in BYU history after hitting two 54-yard kicks in 2024.

About Will Ferrin
Ferrin is a redshirt senior kicker from Kaysville, Utah.
Playing at Davis High School, Ferrin went 13/17 on field goals, 16/16 on extra points, and 33 of his 40 kickoffs resulted in touchbacks.
Ferrin began his college career at Boise State, where he spent two years before returning home to the Beehive State.

In two seasons with the Cougars, Ferrin has gone 35/41 (85.4 percent) on field goals and 73/74 (98.6 percent) on extra points.
Last year, Ferrin sealed the victory over rival Utah with a 44-yard, game-winning field goal, nailed a career-long 54-yarder against Baylor, and set the BYU single-season field goals made record with 24.
Ferrin was a captain and received numerous honors for his performance in 2024. He was named the Big 12 Co-Special Teams Player of the Year, Big 12 Kicker of the Year by the College Football Network, and was named to the All-Big 12 First Team.
He entered 2025 seventh on BYU’s all-time list of field goals made. His 24 field goals in 2024 are a program single-season high. Ferrin’s 85.4 field goal percentage is the best in Cougar history, topping Trevor Samson’s 83.9 percent.
