Pula Brothers Flip Commitment From Utah To BYU

SALT LAKE CITY — Lone Peak High twins Jaron and Kennan Pula announced on Friday that they are flipping their commitment from Utah to BYU football.
The Pula brothers had been committed to play for the Utes since July 3, but decommitted and signed with the Cougars in the early signing period.

It was actually the second flip for the twins. They had originally committed to UCLA back in September 2024 before decommitting earlier in June.
In an article posted to Rivals, Kennan and Jaron Pula explained that they wanted to play under head coach Kalani Sitake, and were even prepared to follow him to Penn State if that deal went through.
“We both wanted to play for Kalani (Sitake). He’s been our guy from the jump and we were even ready to follow him to Penn State if he went there. He ended up staying and we’re really excited to play for him. He’s been constantly saying he’ll take care of us and he’s in our corner and it shows,” Kennan Pula said.
He went on to say that the Cougars are going to use his two-way ability, but he’ll start at safety first.
Jaron Pula said he thinks he can also play on both sides, but will hone in on his skills as a wideout. Both of the brothers have good size, coming in at 6-foot-2 and 6-foot-3.

The Pula brothers also spoke highly of the BYU culture and how they take care of student-athletes.
“It’s exciting to be a part of this BYU class that has a chance to be one of the best they have ever had. I know I’m going to be in a fight to earn my spot but I just got to stay down and work and I know I’ll be good,” Kennan Pula said.
The 2025 signing day class has the chance to be one of the best in BYU football history. Both Jaron and Kennan Pula add to its prestige and will look to make an impact as soon as they hit the field.
