Southern Utah Unable To Keep Pace With NAU After Slow Start

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Southern Utah Thunderbirds fell on the road after they were unable to keep pace with the Northern Arizona Lumberjacks.
The Lumberjacks hosted the T-Birds at J. Lawrence Walkup Skydome in Flagstaff, Arizona on Saturday, October 16.

The Thunderbirds struggled to match the offensive output of the Lumberjacks following a slow start to the game.
SUU fell into an early deficit and was unable to climb back after trailing 17-0 at the end of the opening quarter.
Over the following 30 minutes, the two schools matched each other as they both scored 28 points apiece in the second and third quarters combined.

Over the final 15 minutes of action. NAU outscored SUU by seven and pulled away with the 59-35 win.
With the loss, the Thunderbirds fell to a record of 1-6 on the season, including 0-4 in Big Sky Conference action.
Southern Utah’s next game is a home contest against the Northern Colorado Bears on Saturday, October 23 at 5 p.m. (MDT) on ESPN+.
