SALT LAKE CITY – After getting to see the college football scene in Utah firsthand, Dave Portnoy had a hot take about the Utah-BYU rivalry.
He put the rivalry between the Utah Utes and the BYU Cougars up there with the most hostile in the country.

As a person who has been around the country to a lot of different college campuses, putting Utah-BYU with the likes of Michigan-Ohio State, Alabama-Auburn, Oklahoma-Texas, and others definitely sparked some conversations.
Dave Portnoy Visits Utah For Utes vs. Red Raiders
As part of the Big Noon Kickoff FOX Sports team, Portnoy made his way to the Beehive State for the first time this week.
His activities included hitting a few pizza places, spending lots of money at the Utah Campus Store, heading up to Park City, and, of course, co-hosting a few shows on Saturday morning.
According to his social media, he has interacted with many Utah and BYU fans over the last week and got a closer look at the rivalry.
About 30 minutes before Utah kicked off against Texas Tech, he had another take on the rivalry, via X.
Utah is going bonkers. Not sure BYU has this energy despite all the (trash) they talk
Following the Cougars’ win in week four over East Carolina, BYU entered the AP Top 25 Poll. There’s a chance Portnoy and FOX come back to the state later in the season to experience the other end of the rivalry.
