BOISE, Idaho – The on-brand Utah State football ‘Battle Cattle’ helmets are coming back for the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl in an early Christmas gift for Aggie fans.
USU will be donning the agriculturally appropriate headgear for the third time, but this time away from Logan. The Aggies are 2-0 while wearing the spotted skullcap.
Utah State (6-6, 4-4 MW) will face the Washington State Cougars (6-6) in the 29th Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on Monday, December 22.

Aggies perfect in ‘Battle Cattle’ helmets
A 2024 April Fool’s Day joke quickly became reality after the overwhelmingly positive response led school officials to adopt the helmet for the program’s August 31 season-opening 36-14 win against Robert Morris.
Utah State fans again saw spots in the 2025 opener, a 28-16 victory over UTEP.
