Former BYU RB ‘Catching Fire’ In Fall Camp With Aggies

LOGAN, Utah – After three days of fall camp, former BYU running back Riley Burt is playing well and will look to make an impact with his new team.
Burt joined the Aggies as a graduate transfer after playing for BYU.
He is now looking to be the backup running back to Gerold Bright.
“I thought the offense came out today and ran the ball very well. Jaylen (Warren) and Enoch (Nawahine) had nice days today and Riley (Burt) has really caught fire the last couple of days. We are limiting Gerold (Bright) because we know he knows the offense and those other guys need the reps. Chase Nelson is doing a nice job, as well. Overall, we have seen positive movement with the running backs, now we have to see it when the pads come on,” Utah State head coach Gary Andersen stated.

Last season for the Cougars, Burt rushed for 323 yards and 2 touchdowns. Through his three year career in Provo, he racked up 513 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The Box Elder High School graduate is competing with Snow College transfer Jaylen Warren, junior Chase Nelson, freshman Enoch Nawahine, Colorado Mesa transfer Pailate Makakona and sophomore Sione Fehoko for the backup running back spot.
Utah State is expected to have a great season after being picked to finish second in the Mountain Division behind Boise State as voted on by the media in the preseason poll.
