Dixie State Drops Empire Classic Game To Texas State

SALT LAKE CITY – The Dixie State men’s basketball program fell for the second time this season with a loss to the Texas State Bobcats.
The Trailblazers and Bobcats in the Empire Classic at the Matadome in Northridge, California on Friday, November 19.
Dixie State fell to Texas State, 85-65.

The Trailblazers and Bobcats battled and went back-and-forth on the scoreboard during the opening 10 minutes of game time. Midway through the first half, Texas State started to pull away.
By halftime, the Blazers found themselves down double-digits, 47-29.

Dixie State did its best to bounce back after halftime, but the early deficit was too much to overcome.
The Trailblazers finished the contest shooting 47.6 percent overall and 40.0 percent from downtown. Cameron Gooden led the Trailblazers with 18 points on 4-7 field goals.
With the loss, the Blazers fell to a 1-2 record this season.
Dixie State’s next game is on the road against the CSU Northridge Matadors on Saturday, November 20 at 1 p.m. (MDT).
