SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Utes men’s basketball team finished their regular season with a 74-72 win over Colorado in overtime after Both Gach made three free-throws at the end of the game.

Gach led Utah with a career-high 28 points along with 5 rebounds and 4 assists. He was very efficient shooting the ball, going 9-15 from the field and 2-6 from the three-point line in 42 minutes.

Alfonso Plummer added 21 points on 5-11 shooting from beyond the arc in his first start of the season for the Utes.

McKinley Wright had 20 points, 6 rebounds and 6 assists to lead Colorado, who had three players score in double figures. Tyler Bey added 16 points and Evan Battey chipped in 15.

Second Half/Overtime Performance

The Utes won the game due to a foul that was called in the final seconds of overtime. Utah trailed by one point with 8 seconds remaining when Gach shot a three as time expired but McKinley Wright made contact during Gach’s shooting motion.

Gach made all three free throws with 0.6 seconds left and the Utes prevailed.

The Utes turned to Gach to fill the void and he did that and then some. Gach scored 18 points against Cal after struggling for most of conference play. The sophomore from Minnesota also hit the game-tying jump shot that sent the game to overtime against Colorado.

Utah trailed Colorado 41-33 at the halftime break before the Utes snapped out of their funk and outscored the Buffaloes 31-23 in the second half. They scored 10 points in overtime.
