SALT LAKE CITY- For the past two seasons Utah tight end Dalton Kincaid has been a big part of the Utes’ offensive identity. Sunday evening Kincaid made a Twitter and Instagram announcement that he will not be playing in Utah’s upcoming Rose Bowl Game, though he still plans to be around the team and help in other ways.

Gratitude To The Utes

“I have cherished every single moment I have stepped onto the football field, and my time at both Utah and USD is something I will hold in my heart forever. I will never forget every drop of blood and sweat, every triumph, every tear shed and every memory made. Throughout this journey as a football player, I have learned and grown and pushed myself to places I never thought possible. I have experienced the highest of highs and the lowest of lows, and these bonds and lessons and relationships I know will last a lifetime.

It is with a heavy heart that I announce that, due to an injury, I will not play in the Rose Bowl. My plan is to rehab and prepare for the NFL Draft. I will, however, still attend the Rose Bowl and support and cheer for my teammates. I am so excited to watch them compete on January 2nd.

Thank you to all of my coaches, my brothers, my family, and all of the incredible fans. I am so grateful for this team and my experiences and I can’t wait the next chapter in my football career. Go Utes, always!”

Always A Ute

Kincaid has displayed a great amount of pride and loyalty to the programs he has been involved with through his college career. The talented tight end was an under-the-radar find for the Utes at the University of San Diego. At Utah, Kincaid became a star and a real problem for teams to defend in 2021 and 2022 helping them earn back-to-back Pac-12 Titles and Rose Bowl appearances.

Kincaid accepted an invite to participate in the Senior Bowl and will likely also be invited to the 2023 NFL Combine.
