Former Utah QB Troy Williams Performing Well At Seahawks Minicamp

SEATTLE, Wash. – Former Utah quarterback Troy Williams is getting a shot at playing in the NFL as he is one of three quarterbacks at rookie minicamp for the Seattle Seahawks.
Williams is back in Seattle where his college career began with the University of Washington, before transferring to junior college and ending at the University of Utah for two seasons.
The former Ute is competing for a roster spot against Michael O’Connor from British Columbia and former South Dakota State quarterback Taryn Christion.
According to Seahawks beat writer Gregg Bell of the News Tribune, Williams has been the best quarterback of the three in rookie minicamp.

In the video, Williams connected with Florida State wide receiver Nyqwan Murray.
The Utes have three other players at rookie minicamp, including draft picks Marquise Blair and Cody Barton as well as undrafted free agent offensive lineman Lo Falemaka. During free agency, former Ute Nate Orchard signed with the Seahawks.
Seattle has three quarterbacks currently on their roster, which includes Russell Wilson, Paxton Lynch and Christion.
Williams was the starting quarterback for Utah in 2016 and played in all 13 games. He threw for 2,757 yards, 15 touchdowns and 8 interceptions. In 2017, he played in 6 games with Tyler Huntley missing time due to injury. Williams had 812 yards, 2 touchdowns and 4 interceptions during that season.
