Spanish Fork Four-Star Offensive Tackle Aaron Dunn Nearing Commitment

SALT LAKE CITY – Four-star Spanish Fork offensive tackle Aaron Dunn is set to announce his commitment tomorrow. He is one of the best prospects in the class and has been a top target for Utah Football. Here’s what you need to know ahead of his pick.

Aaron Dunn’s Recruitment

The promising in-state offense tackle is set to officially announce his decision on August 8. With his commitment, he is also planning to shut down his recruitment. Dunn has seen his recruitment grow with 20 offers, nearly all of which come from the Power Conference level.

Dunn narrowed down the schools he wanted to officially visit to UCLA, BYU, USC, Utah, and Oregon. His recruitment has centered around those five programs over the past month, however, Texas A&M made a very strong push over the last month to try and work their way into his top options. However, Dunn has remained focused on the schools he officially visited.

Though five programs will be represented at Dunn’s commitment ceremony, this decision seems to be boiling down to Oregon, USC, and Utah. At this point, it seems to be a total coin flip. Utah had momentum earlier this week but Oregon and USC have both made a big final push towards the finish line.

Finalists: BYU, UCLA, Oregon, USC, Utah

Utah Official Visit Date: June 14

Other Official Visits: UCLA May 10, BYU May 17, USC May 31, Oregon June 21

Rankings and Ratings: 247Sports and On3 share similar rating models and Dunn holds a 91 four-star rating according to 247Sports, while On3 has given him a three-star 89 rating. According to the industry-generated 247Sports Composite Rankings, Dunn holds a .9261 four-star Composite rating and ranks as the No. 20 offensive tackle in the 2025 class.

Scouting Report: The 6-foot-8 and 290-pound four-star offensive tackle is a good athlete with a ton of potential to grow into. The first thing that stands out about Dunn’s profile is simply his size, length, and overall athleticism. He has very good functional athletic qualities and mobility, thanks in large part to the fact that he’s a pretty good basketball player. That two-sport experience has been incredibly beneficial to Dunn on the gridiron. He’s not stiff and is actually quite flexible. He is able to play in a good base with outstanding knee and hip bend. That flexibility is key to Dunn’s potential as there are simply not many tackles of his measurable that can bend the way that he can.

He has good initial quickness out of his stance, which is key to pass protection on the edge. He has good lateral mobility but does need to improve his change of direction, which will come with coaching and physical development at the next level. He has great arm length, which he needs to utilize better, but when he utilizes it properly he’s able to contact the defensive linemen first and set himself up properly in pass protection.

Dunn has shown progress from a technical standpoint over the last two seasons, which is encouraging in his projection to the college level. Listed at 6-foot-8mand 290 pounds, Dunn still has plenty of room to grow, particularly in his upper half. He does need to get stronger, which again, he will at the next level. Adding that mass and strength will unlock a big chunk of potential for him in both phases of the game. He has a strong lower half and is able to generate good power and movement in the run game. He’s athletic enough to get out in space as well, which at the very least makes him a gigantic obstacle for defenders to navigate around. Dunn is another in a growing line of blue-chip offensive linemen that Utah has prioritized in recent years, there is a lot to like about Dunn’s game and future.
