Krystowiak: Didn’t Want OT Against Kentucky, Needed Bathroom Break

Dec 19, 2019, 4:56 PM | Updated: 5:03 pm

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah men’s basketball head coach Larry Krystowiak didn’t want his team to go to overtime against the Kentucky Wildcats because “he had to use the bathroom badly.”

The Utes defeated the No. 6 Wildcats 69-66 at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on Wednesday, December 18.

After the game, Krystowiak told the Pac-12 Network’s Michael Yam that he “didn’t want the game to go overtime” because he “had to use the bathroom badly.”

It was Utah’s first win over the Wildcats since December 18, 1976.

With 12 new faces and 11 true freshmen on this roster, head coach Larry Krystkowiak has done a tremendous job in teaching this team about playing at the next level and doing it with wins over quality opponents.

It was also the Utes’ first win over a ranked opponent since 2016 when they defeated Arizona at home.

The Utes improved to 9-2 on the season with the victory.

Krystowiak is in his ninth season leading the Utah men’s basketball program. He owns a 164-113 record as head coach of the Utes.

Utah finishes non-conference play against No. 20 San Diego State at Staples Center on Saturday, December 21. The game will tip-off at 4:30 p.m. (MDT). It will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Network and 700 AM.
