Kyle Whittingham Concerned About One Position Group Heading Towards Season Opener

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – As Utah football wrapped up fall camp on Saturday, head coach Kyle Whittingham is concerned with one position group.

The concern surrounding the offensive line is not due to the lack of talent or bad performances during fall camp, it’s because they have not been healthy and getting meaningful reps together.

Whittingham voiced his concern after the second and final scrimmage of fall camp on Saturday.

“We got like 10 or 11 guys that we really like but to get the top five out there, we haven’t been able to do that because guys have been missing practice,” Whittingham said. “We feel like we’ve addressed pretty much every area, the only thing like I said that concerned me is the o-line. Everything else I think is either addressed or on its way to being addressed.”

Whittingham hasn’t mentioned which players haven’t participated in fall camp or missed any practices. The likely starters on the offensive line are expected to be Nick Ford at center, Sataoa Laumea at one of the guard spots with Keaton Bills or Braeden Daniels at the opposite guard position. Bamidele Olaseni has had a strong camp and will be fighting for one of the tackle spots along with Jaren Kump and Simi Moala.
