SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Following a dominating 42-26 win over USC this past weekend, Utah head coach Kyle Whittingham wore the “22% Better Every Day” shirt.

After the Utah football team picked up a big win, Kyle Whittingham changed his wardrobe before addressing the media on site at the Coliseum. He switched his shirt to the “22% Better Every Day,” which was created to honor Ty Jordan and Aaron Lowe, who both tragically passed away in a nine-month span.

Pac-12 Network host Ashley Adamson snapped a photo of Whittingham with the shirt.

On Thursday afternoon, the program released the t-shirts that their players and coaches will wear to honor Ty Jordan and Aaron Lowe. When Aaron Lowe was shot and killed at a party in Sugarhouse early on Sunday, September 26, the team held a candlelight vigil in his honor. Select players, including Clark Phillips III, Ja’Quinden Jackson and Devin Lloyd, along with head coach Kyle Whittingham and AD Mark Harlan spoke at the vigil.

Jackson had a special message that he is trying to be 22% better everyday in honor of Jordan and Lowe, who Jackson was close friends with.

Many fans were in awe on social media when they saw the shirts. It says “22% better every day.” It also included a new logo that is revised. When Utah played in their annual spring game in April, they had the number 22 with the second 2 turned around, forming a heart that said “LLTJ” on their helmets.

The Utes took that logo and put “TJAL” and “forever” below it.

Great news for the Utah football fans is that the t-shirts will be able to be purchased at the Utah Red Zone stores soon. Profits from the shirt will be divided equally to the Aaron Lowe and Ty Jordan Memorial Scholarship funds.
