Pac-12 Postpones Fall Football Season, May Play In Spring

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The University of Utah’s fall football season has been postponed after the Pac-12 CEO Group voted to not play sports in the fall.

This comes after the Big Ten announced that they have canceled the fall sports season including football. They are also looking at potentially playing in the spring.

College football insider Brett McMurphy is reporting that a source said “we’re done.”

Pac-12 has canceled fall football season, source told @Stadium. “We’re done,” source said. Official announcement at 4:30 p.m. ET

The Utes were scheduled to start training camp on Monday, August 17. Student-athletes have been doing voluntary workouts since June.

KSL Sports columnist and Sirius XM Pac-12 host Sean O’Connell is reporting that the coaches in the conference have been told the season has been postponed until the spring.

Utah’s Fall Football Schedule Canceled

On July 31, the Pac-12 released their 10-game coference-only schedule.

Here is the schedule that was supposed to be played starting at the end of September.

• Saturday, Sept. 26 at Washington State
• Saturday, Oct. 3 at Colorado
• Saturday, Oct. 10 vs. Oregon State
• Friday, Oct. 16 at UCLA
• Saturday, Oct. 24 – BYE
• Saturday, Oct. 31 vs. Arizona
• Saturday, Nov. 7 at Arizona State
• Saturday, Nov. 14 vs. Washington
• Saturday, Nov. 21 at California
• Friday, Nov. 27 vs. USC
• Saturday, December 5 vs. Oregon
