Utah Gymnastics Wins An Outright Big 12 Title, Score New Season High

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah Gymnastics has secured their first-ever Big 12 Conference gymnastics regular-season title.
The Red Rocks clinched the championship with a 198.075-197.525 victory over Denver on Friday. The win capped off an undefeated 6-0 run in conference competition during their debut season in the league.
The Red Rocks’ triumph over Denver ensured them sole possession of the Big 12 Regular Season Title, marking yet another significant achievement for the program.

The Red Rocks bested each of the Big 12 gymnastic member programs: Arizona, Arizona State, BYU, Iowa State, West Virginia, and affiliate member Denver. This championship win establishes Utah atop the Big 12 and lays the groundwork for a strong postseason push.
Utah’s 198.075 score secures new season high, Big 12 Title
Utah’s score of 198.075 is a new season high, which included two new highs on the balance beam and floor.
By breaking the 198-score threshold, the Red Rocks became just the fourth team to do so this season, joining Oklahoma, LSU, and Florida.
In fact, Utah tied Oklahoma for the second-highest mark recorded by any team in the country this season. Florida holds the top score this season at 198.125.
Standout gymnasts Grace McCallum and Makenna Smith led the way with stellar routines across multiple events.

Looking Ahead
With a bye week before their next competition, Utah aims to refine their routines and build upon their championship momentum. The team is focused on maintaining its competitive edge as it gears up for key matchups against Washington on March 8 and UCLA on March 15.
The 2025 Big 12 Gymnastics Championship is set for March 22 at the Maverik Center in West Valley City, Utah. NQS rankings will determine championship seedings at the conclusion of Big 12 play on March 9, with teams completing their regular season schedules by March 16.
From there, the NCAA will announce the 36-team field for Nationals on March 24. Utah will serve as host for Regionals from April 2-6 at the Maverik Center. Then roughly two weeks later, the advancing teams will be competing in the championship round on April 17 and 19, which will be held at Dickies Arena in Fort Worth, Texas.
