Utah Basketball Officially Hosting Two Transfer Portal Prospects

SALT LAKE CITY—On Monday, Utah basketball welcomed four-star prospect Kelvin Odih, transfer commit Terrence Brown, and two other transfer portal prospects, Elijah Moore and Tyler Betsey.
The Runnin’ Utes have ramped up recruiting efforts with more on staff. These four visitors are all connected to coach Raphael Chillious and will have an opportunity to get a much better idea of all that the University of Utah has to offer.

Cincinnati transfer Tyler Betsey is officially visiting Utah
Betsey is considered a four-star transfer prospect from Cincinnati. He was a 2024 recruit who ranked No. 53 in the class and earned a 93 four-star rating while holding a 90 four-star transfer rating.
A 6-foot-8, 225-pound forward that has a good combination of size, athleticism, and shooting. He has the potential to turn into a good defender, thanks to those qualities.
However, his best attribute is his shooting. He possesses a consistent jump shot from deep and good touch around the rim. He was also considered a good rebounder thanks to his position size.
As a true freshman at Cincinnati, Betsey averaged just 3.3 points and 1.5 rebounds in 11 minutes of action.
Syracuse transfer Elijah Moore is officially visiting Utah
Another four-star transfer prospect, Moore, entered the portal from Syracuse. He, too, was a 2024 recruit who ranked No. 59 in the class and earned a 93 four-star rating. Moore earned a 92 four-star transfer rating.
A 6-foot-4, 176-pound guard that possesses the athleticism, skill, and feel to become a quality backcourt option.
Coming out of high school, Moore was considered one of the best pure shooters in the class. Thanks to consistent, clean shooting mechanics, he was good off the catch or the bounce from deep. He also has shown promise as a playmaker attacking the rim but needs to become more consistent.
As a true freshman at Syracuse, Moore averaged just 5.2 points, 1.5 rebounds, and 1.0 assists in 15 minutes of action.

Plenty of work to rebuild Utah basketball’s 2025-26 roster
Utah’s current roster is far from finished. With the staff essentially complete, though not fully finalized, Utah can turn greater attention to recruiting.

There are some pieces in place on the roster already, though very few. Jensen and his new staff have work to do to reach 15 scholarship players. The Utes need difference-makers, not just seat warmers on the bench.

Roster building is urgent—but culture is permanent. Jensen isn’t just recruiting players. He’s building a program, and that starts with identity. For Utah, that identity will start on the defensive end.
Utah has picked up commitments from Farleigh Dickinson guard Terrence Brown and Akron big man James Okonkwo. Those two join Keanu Dawes, Ibi Traore, and Alvin Jackson on Utah’s current 2025-26 roster projection.

For Utah fans, these are the sort of talented prospects the program needs and should be involved with more often. Utah seems poised to make a splash.
