Utah F Timmy Allen Surpasses 1,000 Career Points During Oregon Game

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah forward Timmy Allen has scored 1,000 career points as a Runnin’ Ute during the first half against Oregon.
Entering the game against the Ducks, Timmy Allen needed 8 points to reach 1,000 career points as a member of the Utah basketball team. Rylan Jones set up Allen for the bucket that put him at 1,000 points. The junior went on to score two more straight possessions after that. Saturday, January 9 was Allen’s birthday.
The Arizona native was up to 14 points in the first half against Oregon and was a big part of their 11-0 run that helped the Utes get their biggest lead of the game, 33-25 with under four minutes left until the halftime break.

Allen is the 40th Utah basketball player to reach 1,000 career points and is the 21st Ute to do so during his junior year.
Through seven games this season, Allen is averaging 14.3 points and 5.7 rebounds per game, while shooting 39 percent from the floor. In 2019, Allen was named to the 2019 Pac-12 All-Freshman Team. Last season, he received All-Pac-12 Second Team honors.
In Utah’s last game against USC on Saturday, Allen scored just 5 points on 2-of-14 shooting from the field.
