Let’s take a closer look at the Utes 2025 Big 12 conference schedule.
Week 4 – Texas Tech vs Utah, Sept 20
This is the third matchup all-time but the first between the programs since the early 1970’s. Joey McGuire has done a good job building the Red Raiders program and he will lead a talented squad to Salt Lake City in 2025. Texas Tech brings back key players in quarterback Behren Morton and receiver Caleb Douglas and has added a lot of talent through the transfer portal.
Week 5 – Utah at West Virginia, Sept 27
This is just the third meeting between Utah and West Virginia, but the coaches are plenty familiar with each other. Rich Rodriguez is not only back as head coach in Morgantown, but he’s also back on Utah’s schedule. The Mountaineers will look drastically different from a personnel standpoint next season.

Week 7 – Arizona State vs Utah, Oct 11
Kenny Dillingham will attempt to lead the reigning Big 12 Champions to a repeat next year. The Sun Devils return quarterback Sam Leavitt and other key players but must replace a big presence in Cam Skatteboo. Getting Arizona State at home in 2025 is a big deal for Utah, who will look for payback after losing this past season.
Week 8 – Utah at BYU, Oct 18
The rivalry game came down to the final seconds this past season, which should be the case again in 2025. The Cougars return the majority of their roster that finished 3rd in the Big 12.
Week 9 – Colorado vs Utah, Oct 25
Year three of Coach Prime at Colorado will be fascinating. The Buffs will look quite different without Heisman winner Travis Hunter or quarterback Shedeur Sanders. Colorado will have an intriguing quarterback battle between freshman Julian Lewis and Liberty transfer Kaidon Salter that will be a big storyline of the offseason.

Week 10 – Cincinnati vs Utah, Nov 1
This is yet another first-time matchup between programs. Utah and Cincinnati will face off against each other for the first time. The Bearcats have struggled in their transition to the Power Conference level, but with the bulk of their roster returning next season, they hope to make a big leap in 2025.
Week 12 – Utah at Baylor, Nov 15
The final game of a home-and-home agreement as non-conference opponents was played this past season. That means the first conference matchup between Utah and Baylor will be played in 2025 in Waco, TX. For the Bears, quarterback Sawyer Robertson emerged as one of the top passers in the Big 12 and the country. He will be a big talking point in Baylor’s outlook next season.

Week 13 – Kansas State vs Utah, Nov 22
Utah and Kansas State will meet for the very first time in 2025. After each failed to live up to expectations this past season, both will be looking to do so this year. That alone makes the matchup in Salt Lake City a doozy. The Wildcats return the majority of their roster, including third-year quarterback Avery Johnson.
Week 14 – Utah at Kansas, Nov 29
This will be the first meeting between Utah and Kansas since 1996. The Jayhawks two-deep is undergoing the largest change since Lance Leipold took over as head coach. However, quarterback Jalon Daniels is back for his sixth season at the helm. After an up-and-down performance, Daniels found a groove and will be motivated to put it all together next season.
