Recruiting Angle: Recapping Developments From Utah Football’s June 20 Visitors

SALT LAKE CITY – Utah football welcomed another big list of visitors over the weekend, and Kyle Whittingham’s staff has seemingly made a big impression on the entire group.
Despite last season’s struggles, the Utes still finished with one of the better recruiting classes in the Big 12. With a refreshed outlook for the 2025 season, the Utes have gotten off to a solid start on the trail this month.
The Utes currently sit at eight commits in the 2026 class, and that number could get into the teens from this group alone. The Utes have secured two commitments from the group, but could be closing in on a handful more.
Here’s a recap of the developments from the weekend.
Utah Football’s Official Visitors For June 20-21
COMMITTED: Perrion Williams – WR, Archbishop Riordan (CA)
87 Three-Star | No. 75 athlete
The Utes were able to get on the board with a commitment from this weekend’s crop of visitors. The Utes have long been considered the favorite to land Williams. He’s a dynamic receiver with the athleticism to be a threat at all three levels of the passing game. He committed to Utah over other programs like Minnesota, Oregon State, and Washington State. This was a big win for Micah Simon and the Utah’s receiver room.

COMMITTED: Rowdy Pearce — IOL, Midland Christian (TX)
86 Three-Star | No. 94 IOL
The Utes landed their second commitment in Pearce. The Texan stands at just over 6-foot-3 and weighs 285 pounds, and has committed to Utah to play center. Since Utah offered Pearce on May 6, they’ve emerged as a favorite to land him. His official visit this weekend sealed the deal, and he committed to the coaches Saturday night.

Felix Ojo – OT, Lake Ridge (TX)
98 Five-Star | No. 5 Overall | No. 1 Offensive Tackle
Utah shocked the country when it was revealed that the No. 1 tackle in the country would be officially visiting the program this weekend. The Utes only officially offered Ojo on June 2, and he was deep into his recruiting process with a host of blueblood programs.

Relationships have played a big role in Utah securing the opportunity to host him for his final trip. Ojo previously had Oklahoma scheduled for his final visit, but cancelled and opted to fly to Salt Lake City.
“We’re still in a time where that last visit is still a very crucial visit,” 247 Sports National Recruiting Editor Brandon Huffman shared on the Utah Blockcast. “You wonder how they did it, you spend the last two months reading about Utah having two potential 1st round draft picks, that means there’s vacancy and development.”
Utah faces a major battle with Texas, which is considered the favorite to land him, as well as other blueblood programs. However, according to sources, Utah knocked it out of the park and based on the experience this weekend, there’s a great deal of motivation to continue on this run for Ojo.

Jaron Pula – WR, Lone Peak HS (Utah)
90 Four-Star Rating | No. 241 Overall | No. 35 Receiver
Jaron Pula is one of the elite pass-catching prospects in the region—a high-upside receiver with rare physical tools and natural playmaking instincts. He turned heads during a breakout junior campaign, flashing the kind of big-play ability.
The two have been committed to UCLA since last September; however, they’ve quietly gone about exploring options. Utah securing the official visit this weekend is significant. Utah could be close to sealing the deal, as they entered the weekend with momentum in this recruitment.
Kennan Pula – WR, Lone Peak HS (Utah)
89 Three-Star Rating | No. 63 Receiver
Kennan Pula is another dynamic pass-catching prospect and two-way player in the west. Just like his brother, he showcases some really exciting pass-catching ability but has also impressed on the defensive side of the ball.
The two have been committed to UCLA since last September; however, they’ve quietly gone about exploring options. Utah securing the official visit this weekend is significant. Utah could be close to sealing the deal, as they entered the weekend with momentum in this recruitment.

Aisa Galea’i – S, Timpview HS (UT)
87 Three-Star | No. 71 Safety
Galea’i is one of the top defensive backs in the region. He was super productive last season when he tallied 82 total tackles, 11 for loss, while notching six interceptions, seven pass deflections, two forced fumbles, and one recovery. That sort of ballhawking production is coveted by Utah.
He’s seen his recruitment boil down to three teams – BYU, UCLA, and Utah, and the Utes getting the last visit is significant. There was optimism that Utah was in a position to strike, and it seems Utah capitalized this weekend.

Dylan Waters — DB, Fort Bend Marshall (TX)
86 Three-Star Rating | No. 98 Cornerback
Despite playing in only eight games last season for Fort Bend Marshall—one of the top programs in the state of Texas—Waters emerged as a promising defensive back. He finished the season with 20 tackles and four pass breakups, while providing some impressive moments in coverage.
That’s made Waters a late-blooming prospect, but one who has earned an initial three-star 86 rating from 247 Sports and the No. 98 CB ranking in the 2026 class. Utah secured the final visit, and there’s a positive buzz that the Utes are in a very favorable spot in his recruitment.
Josiah Jefferson – TE, Southwestern College JC (CA)
Utah welcomed a promising tight end prospect from the JUCO ranks to campus this weekend. Jefferson is a 6-foot-5, 230-pound pass catcher with good all-around qualities for the tight end position.
His recruitment has been quiet, but he’s earned offers from Arizona, Boise State, Cal, Maryland, and Oklahoma, among others. Utah was the second program to offer him and brought him in for his final visit. The Sooners will be tough to top as he has family ties to the program, but the Utes impressed this weekend.
Javion Ramon – EDGE, Monterey (TX)
A mystery visitor this weekend, the Utes identified Ramon as a rather intriguing defensive line prospect. Ramon currently isn’t rated or ranked, but he’s earned offers from Baylor, UTEP, and Utah. More importantly, he’s 6-foot-6 and 250 pounds, with the frame to add mass and still preserve his disruptive athleticism. Utah entered the weekend as the favorite to land him, and this is trending towards a positive conclusion for Luther Elliss and the Utes.
