SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Utah Utes moved up one spot to No. 6 in the country by the committee in the fourth College Football Playoff rankings of the 2019 season.

It’s the 28th week that they have appeared in the CFP rankings since the Playoff began in 2014. That is the sixth most in the country behind Alabama, Clemson, Ohio State, Oklahoma and LSU.

The Utes are coming off of a 35-7 win over Arizona on Saturday, their seventh straight victory. They are the highest ranked team in the Pac-12, it’s also the highest ranking that Utah has ever received in the Playoff rankings.

After their upset loss to Arizona State on Saturday, the Oregon Ducks dropped from No. 6 to No. 14.

The No. 14 ranking for Oregon will hurt the Utes if they manage to beat Colorado this Saturday and Oregon in the Pac-12 Championship next Friday. With a win, it’s not as big of a victory for the Utes as it would have been if the Ducks stayed in the top 10.

Here is the entire Top 25 rankings from the College Football Playoff Committee:

  1. Ohio State (11-0)
  2. LSU (11-0)
  3. Clemson (11-0)
  4. Georgia (10-1)
  5. Alabama (10-1)
  6. Utah (10-1)
  7. Oklahoma (10-1)
  8. Minnesota (10-1)
  9. Baylor (10-1)
  10. Penn State (9-2)
  11. Florida (9-2)
  12. Wisconsin (9-2)
  13. Michigan (9-2)
  14. Oregon (9-2)
  15. Auburn (8-3)
  16. Notre Dame (9-2)
  17. Iowa (8-3)
  18. Memphis (10-1)
  19. Cincinnati (10-1)
  20. Boise State (10-1)
  21. Oklahoma State (8-3)
  22. USC (8-4)
  23. Iowa State (7-4)
  24. Virginia Tech (8-3)
  25. Appalachian State (10-1)

Utah will face the Colorado Buffaloes on Saturday in their regular season finale at Rice-Eccles Stadium. The game will kickoff at 5:30 p.m. and will be televised on ABC.
