Utah RB Tavion Thomas Gets Hat Trick During First Half Against UCLA

SALT LAKE CITY – Utes running back Tavion Thomas scored his third touchdown of the first half of Utah’s game against the UCLA Bruins.

The Utes hosted the Bruins at Rice-Eccles Stadium on Saturday, October 30.
With 4:27 remaining in the second quarter, Thomas burst into the end zone for six points and his third touchdown of the contest.
The last Utah running back to score three touchdowns in a game was the late Ty Jordan, who’s number was retired in between the first and second quarters.

Thomas’ run put the Utes up 28-10.
The drive was set up by a Nephi Sewell interception.

Thomas’ score ended a two-play, 17-yard drive that lasted 35 seconds.
After the touchdown, Thomas had nine carries for 63 yards and three touchdowns.

Thomas entered the game with 78 carries for 405 yards and six rushing touchdowns this season.
Utah’s game against UCLA is broadcast on ESPN and 700 AM.
