Utah RB Zack Moss Named Semifinalist For Doak Walker Award

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah running back Zack Moss was honored as a semifinalist for the Doak Walker Award. The award is given annually to college football’s best running back.
Moss was named as a semifinalist for the award on Thursday, November 21.
The Ute is one of 10 college football running backs listed as semifinalists for the award.

Through nine games this season, Moss had carried the ball 154 times for 955 yards. That equates to 6.2 yards per carry.
Moss had punched the ball into the endzone 13 times on the ground in 2019.
He’s also caught 17 passes for 288 yards and a touchdown.
The Utah RB ranks 27th in total rushing yards, 14th in rushing yards per game, 21st in yards per carry, and tied-8th in rushing touchdowns.

Moss was injured in Utah’s loss to USC and miss half of the game. He sat out Utah’s following game against Washington State and had limited reps against Oregon State.
The Utes have a 9-1 record with two regular-season games (Arizona, Colorado) remaining on their schedule.
In addition to Moss, LeVante Bellamy (Western Michigan), AJ Dillon (Boston College), JK Dobbins (Ohio State), Clyde Edwards-Helaire (LSU), Travis Etienne (Clemson), Kenneth Gainwell (Memphis), Chuba Hubbard (Oklahoma State) , Xavier Jones (SMU), and Jonathan Taylor (Wisconsin) were named semifinalists.

Wisconsin’s Taylor won the Doak Walker Award in 2018.
Finalists for the award will be named on Tuesday, December 2.
The Doak Walker Award winner will be announced during The Home Depot College Football Awards show on Thursday, December 12. It will be broadcast on ESPN.
