Utes Capitalize On Cougars Errors To Break Game Open

PROVO, Utah – The Utah Utes took control of the game in the third quarter after taking advantage of multiple mistakes committed by BYU.
The Utes were in the midst of suffering from their own penalities, stuck in BYU territory with 27-yards to go on third down when the Cougars were hit with a facemask penalty giving Utah an automatic first down.
The Utes had the ball to open the half and extended their lead to 16-9 after a Jaylen Dixon rushing touchdown.

The Cougars had critical errors and poor offense all quarter long. BYU had only 14 yards of offense in the third quarter.

Utah controlled the ball for most of the third quarter, possessing the ball for more than 12 minutes. The Utes ran the ball with a steady dose of Zack Moss.
Moss eclipsed the 100-yard mark for the game during the quarter.
Moss now sits in the top 3 in rushing yard in Utah football history.
