SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Utah quarterback Tyler Huntley was ranked among the top ten quarterbacks in college football through the first six weeks of the season by Pro Football Focus.

Huntley was rated as the 10th best QB in the country by Pro Football Focus or PFF.

The Utah quarterback was highlighted as college football’s “most accurate thrower in terms of catchable passes this season.”

The Utes’ signal-caller was ranked as the second-best quarterback in the Pac-12 Conference. Arizona’s Khalil Tate came in at number eight on the top 10.

PFF rates Huntley as number two in the nation when it comes to throws deeper than 10 yards. On those types of passes, he is 25/35 for 694 yards, five touchdowns, and zero interceptions.

“When given time to look downfield, Huntley has been one of the nation’s best and that’s indicative of his top-10 ranking here,” said Cam Mellor of PFF.

Huntley started the season ranked 27th by Pro Football Focus.

Other QBs in the state of Utah

Pro Football Focus ranked another 120 quarterbacks past Huntley to round out the top 130 in the nation.

Utah State’s Jordan Love came in ranked 66th through the first few weeks of the season.

BYU’s Jaren Hall was ranked 122nd.

Love’s ranking has dropped significantly since the season began. Prior to the Aggies’ first game, Love was rated at the 20th best QB in the country. “The Aggies have lost both their national-stage games against Power-5 opponents and Love has been very much an afterthought in those two games,” said Mellor.

“He needed some statement games to get firmly on the NFL draft radar but he’s still as exciting a quarterback in the country when he is on. Odds are he increases the touchdown count from six and keeps the interception total to single-digits as he has in each of the past two seasons.” – Pro Football Focus on Love

Hall takes over for Wilson who was ranked as a top 30 QB prior to the start of the season. Mellor says that “Hall has to step in and play up to at least a competent level for this team to compete.”

“Against Toledo, he finished with a game grade of just 41.5 but we haven’t seen enough from him to get an accurate read on what we can look forward to as he has 38 career snaps in two seasons.” – Pro Football Focus on Hall
