OGDEN, Utah – Weber State can’t sustain offense as their losing streak reaches four games after falling 64-52 at California Baptist.

The California Baptist Lancers (6-4) hosted Weber State (2-7) on Wednesday, December 7 at the CBU Events Center in Riverside, CA.

The Lancers dropped their last game, falling 64-53 at Cal Poly on December 3.

Weber State is looking to put a stop to a three-game losing streak. The Wildcats lost 77-65 at home to the Utah Tech Trailblazers in their most recent game.

Dillon Jones led Weber State with 22 points in a losing effort. He was the only Wildcat to score in double-figures. Jones also added four steals.

Scotty Washington’s 18 points led the Lancers.

First Half

Neither team seemed to be able to find their stroke early as Weber State flirted with 30 percent shooting for much of the first half and the Lancers missed 11 of their first 15 shots.

California Baptist found the range, turning an 11-9 advantage into a nine point lead in the blink of an eye when they scored on four straight possessions.

Steven Verplancken hit a jumper for Weber State to stem the tide, but Caal Baptist kept rolling.

The Lancers would close the half on a 20-6 run, taking a 16-point lead into the half.

Second Half

Verplancken and Dillon Jones hit back-to-back threes to begin the second half, cutting the Wildcat deficit to 31-21.
