NFLPA Approves NFL’s Amendments To 2020 Collective Bargaining Agreement

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The National Football League Players Association approved the league’s plan to adjust the 2020 collective bargaining agreement.

Multiple meetings involving the NFLPA, NFL officials, and team executives took place on Friday, July 24.
Earlier in the day, NFL owners proposed amendments to the league’s CBA for the upcoming season. In the late afternoon, the NFLPA approved the league’s proposed updates with a 29-3 vote.
Amendments include protections for players’ health and safety during the season amid the coronavirus pandemic.
By approving the NFL’s plan, teams and players can now play on starting training camp on time.

Recently, the league and the players’ union agreed to several health protocols, including team travel, media, and treatment response.
They also updated the facilities protocol, specifically addressing training camp, using recommendations from a committee of doctors, trainers, and strength coaches.

The NFL will require all fans to wear face coverings while in attendance at 2020 games amid the coronavirus pandemic.
NFL vice president of communications Brian McCarthy confirmed the “league-wide” mandate in a social media post on Wednesday, July 22.

On July 21, the NFLPA reportedly told players that zero preseason games will be played prior to the start of the regular season.
