Seattle Reigns Over Utah Royals In Home Loss

SANDY, Utah – The Utah Royals conceded two goals in each half, falling 4-1 at home against the Seattle Reign.
The Utah Royals (1-11-2, 5 points) hosted the Reign (7-4-3, 24 points) at America First Field on Saturday, June 21.

First Half
Utah was forced to play from behind six minutes into the match when Ji So-Yun beat Mandy McGlynn with a right-footed shot. Maddie Dahlien assisted So-Yun on the play.

Seattle struck again ten minutes later.
Dahlien and So-Yun swapped responsibilities, with Dahlien scoring on a right-footed chip shot from the left side that So-Yun assisted.

Bianca St-Georges cut the lead in half for the Royals in the 31st minute.
After peppering Seattle’s defense with a quick succession of shots, St-Georges found the back of the net with a shot from in close. It was her third goal of the year.

The score remained 2-1 at the end of the first half.
Second Half
The second half started slowly with Utah struggling to generate any pressure.
The Royals conceded a goal in the 66th minute, falling behind 3-1.

So-Yun stayed hot, finding Emeri Adames for the two-goal lead.
Adames added her second goal in stoppage time for a 4-1 advantage.
Utah remains last in the NWSL.
