Three Local Skiers Attack Alpine Downhill Course At Milano Cortina Games

MILAN, Italy — Three Team USA athletes with local ties sped through the Alpine Skiing Men’s Downhill event at the Milano Cortina Winter Olympics on Saturday.
Bryce Bennett, Ryan Cochran-Siegle, and Sam Morse all finished inside the top 20 in the first medal event at the 2026 games.
Locals & Team USA Skiers Take On Alpine Course
Up first was Westminster University alum Bryce Bennett.
In his third and final Olympics, but first as a father, Bennett left it all out there on the hill. Reaching a top speed of over 85 miles per hour, Bennett crossed the finish line with a time of 1:53.45.
As more and more times started to roll in, that time had him right around tenth in the field.

About 15 skiers later, Cochran-Siegle came out of the gates for his run. Also a Westminster graduate, he finished about two-tenths of a second slower than his U.S. teammate.
The third of four Team USA skiers was Morse. Making his Olympic debut, the Maine-native trains in the Beehive State for his Olympic endeavors. He posted a very respectable time at 1:53.68.
Last up for the Americans was Kyle Negomir. He posted the best time on the team with a 1:53.20, placing him tenth overall. Bennett finished 13th, Cochran-Siegle finished 18th, and Morse brought up the rear at 19th.
