AMERICAN FORK, Utah – Carsen Ryan, a top recruit in the state of Utah in the class of 2022, has trimmed down his list of scholarship offers to six schools.
American Fork High School tight end Carsen Ryan released his top six schools, and in-state program BYU made the cut.
Ryan, who prepped at Timpview High the first three years of his high school career, announced Colorado, Nebraska, UCLA, Virginia, and Washington round out his top six.

The 247Sports Composite rankings list Ryan as the 11th best tight end nationally and the 2nd best prospect in Utah for the class of 2022.
Last season, Ryan racked up 609 receiving yards on 53 receptions during his junior year at Timpview High School. He plans to play for the Cavemen during the 2021 high school football season.
In three years as a varsity football player, Ryan has played in 27 games, hauled in 87 receptions totaling 961 yards and nine touchdown grabs.
BYU has a rich tradition at the tight end position that includes recent success. Matt Bushman led BYU in receiving yards from 2017-2019. In 2020, Isaac Rex had 12 touchdown receptions in his redshirt freshman season.
BYU extended a scholarship offer to Ryan during spring practices last season on March 9th, 2020.

Some of the schools offered Ryan who didn’t make the top six cut for the talented 6-foot-4, 235-pound tight end/defensive end include Arizona State, Arkansas, Michigan State, TCU, and Tennessee.
College programs are currently in a dead period in recruiting until April 15. This means no in-person communication can occur during that period. The dead period was extended to April due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
