Roy High Football Team Placed Into Quarantine After COVID-19 Outbreak

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – The Roy High School football team suffered an outbreak of COVID-19 and has been quarantined as a result, according to Weber School District.
Eight games into the season, the Royals are undefeated at 8-0 and ranked No. 4 in the sports.ksl.com Game Night Live Power Rankings.

As a precaution the coaching staff and players of the Roy High School football team will be quarantined under the direction of the Weber-Morgan Health Department, impacting 13 coaches and 81 players.
As a result of the quarantine, Roy’s game against Weber on October 9 has been canceled, according to a statement from the district.
According to the district, whenever three or more individuals in the same school setting test positive for COVID-19 within a two-week period the recommendation for the entire group to quarantine.

Roy Football in 2020
The Royals recently picked up their eighth win of the season with a 41-14 victory against the Clearfield Falcons.
Prior to being quarantined, Roy had one game remaining on its regular-season slate.
The Royals was slated to play at No. 13 Weber on Friday, October 9.
