SALT LAKE CITY – The Hercules Salt Lake County High School Player of the Week is celebrating the best high school basketball players in Salt Lake County. Presented by Hercules First Federal Credit Union, each week we honor athletes for their exceptional performance on the hardwood. Our winners this week were Stacia Peoples from Bingham High School and Gavin Lowe from Olympus High School.
Salt Lake County Players of the Week – Stacia Peoples & Gavin Lowe
Stacia Peoples led the Bingham Miners to their first state championship since 2020. She had 13 points, three rebounds, three assists, two steals and one block in their quarterfinal win over Cedar Valley. In their semifinal win over Syracuse, she tallied two points, six assists, five rebounds and one steal. In the 6A State Championship Game, she led the way with 14 points, three rebounds, three assists and one block as they hoisted the hardware.
Gavin Lowe’s incredible prep career came to a conclusion with the third-straight 5A title last week. In a quarterfinal victory over Springville, his scoring prowess was on full display as he scored 40 points to go with four rebounds, four assists, three steals and two blocks. He added 12 points, five rebounds, five assists, four steals and two blocks in their semifinal win over Highland. He then racked up 16 points, six rebounds, four assists and two steals in the 5A State Championship Game.
