Week 2: Friday night’s Utah high school football roundup

SALT LAKE CITY — Week 2 of the 2026 Utah high school football season arrived Thursday, continued through more than 50 games Friday, and caps off with a Saturday night showcase that includes Skyridge hosting Orem on Game Night Live.
But before then, let’s take a look at games around the state on Friday night lights.
Here’s what you may have missed.
NONREGION
Brigg Gardner scored three of the Eagles’ eight rushing touchdowns to cruise past Cottonwood in three quarters.
Romeo Anderson added a pair of touchdowns for Duchesne (1-1).
Brett Tovey accounted for six touchdowns as the Vikings shut out the Pirates to improve to 2-0.
Tovey threw four touchdown passes, including two to Colt Hawkins and one each to Asutin Cannon and Brady Clegg as Viewmont jumped out to a 29-0 lead after the first quarter and never looked back.
Grady Anderson threw two touchdown passes, and Degan Swapp added two on the ground as the Cowboys scored early and often in the three-quarter win to improve to 2-0.
Copper Hills 55, West Jordan 7
Ethan Hill threw five touchdown passes, including three to Logan Beck as the Grizzlies romped over the Jaguars in three quarters.
Kenyon Shockey found Halen Warner for an 11-yard touchdown to account for West Jordan’s lone touchdown.
Kingston Wright found Bryce Christensen for a pair of touchdowns, and Isaiah Wright threw two more as the Templars rolled by the Soaring Eagle.
Stetson Thompson ran for two scores for Manti (1-1).
The Bobcats jumped out to a 24-0 halftime lead before rolling to the 44-point win with 5:41 left in the fourth quarter in a 1A 8-player game.
Monticello 68, UMA-Camp Williams 35
Cache Young ran for three touchdowns, and Miles Coleman threw for two of the Buckaroos’ three passing scores to beat the Marauders in a shootout.
Jordan Gardner rolled up three rushing touchdowns to lead Utah Military Academy (1-1).
Derendrick Dixon piled up four rushing touchdowns as the Panthers shut out the Leopards in a rivalry win.
Lester Falatea returned a pair of interceptions for touchdowns for West (2-0), including a 45-yard pick-six in the third quarter.
Gunnison Valley 22, Providence Hall 18
Kyle Keith scored on a 1-yard dive with 5:23 remaining to rally the Bulldogs by the host Patriots.
Bronson Allen scored on a pair of touchdown runs to lead Gunnison (1-1).
Gary Grayson ran for a pair of touchdowns to lead Providence Hall (0-2), which took an 18-7 halftime lead on Dallas Loutensock’s 30-yard field goal.
Dylan Watahomigie scored three rushing touchdowns, including a 30-yard sprint that set up Bryson Winterton’s go-ahead PAT with 7:23 remaining to lift the Cougars (1-1) to the rivalry win.
Kache Barney’s 14-yard touchdown lifted the Utes (1-1) to a 15-7 lead in the third quarter before Union came back.
Desert Hills 29, Timpanogos 13
Deacon Virgin threw a pair of touchdown passes in the second quarter to help the Thunder overturned an early 7-0 deficit and hand the Timberwolves their first loss.
Seth Brown had a receiving touchdown and a rushing touchdown for Desert Hills (2-0).
Bode Shurtz had a touchdown on the ground and through the air as the Rabbits scored four rushing touchdowns in a romp of the Eagles.
IMG Academy (Fla.) 59, Lone Peak 3
The Ascenders used a 21-point first quarter to jump out to a 38-0 halftime advantage and never looked back against the Knights.
Zachary Zolman scored on a 45-yard field goal for Lone Peak (1-1), which also hosts Las Vegas power Bishop Gorman in two weeks.
Jaxon Hunt threw three touchdown passes to three different receivers in a shutout win over the Pioneers.
Jayden Romero, Xander Thayer and Bradley Foster also added a trio of rushing touchdowns for the Sentinels (2-0).
K’Von Houston completed four of his five touchdown passes to Alani Latu as the Huskies dropped the Riverhawks to 0-2 with a rout.
Kai Betsinger connected with Jake Woolstenhulme from six yards out for the first touchdown in Deer Creek history.
Maple Mountain 27, Riverton 17
Frank Schwenke ran for two touchdowns as the Golden Eagles overturned a 10-0 first-quarter deficit to pull past the Silverwolves.
Springville 27, Green Canyon 0
Treyton Harris ran for two touchdowns and caught another as the Red Devils blanked the host Wolves.
Beckett Burton threw a pair of touchdown passes for Springville (1-1).
Sam Bahr’s 5-yard touchdown run with 1:10 remaining helped the Wildcats overcome the Longhorns’ furious comeback bid.
Bronson Martin scored on a 21-yard run to lift Woods Cross (2-0) to a 20-0 halftime advantage. But West Field (0-2) stormed back to take a 1-point lead with 21-unanswered points through Easton Eilertson.
The junior quarterback connected with Gavin Ortegon on an 80-yard bomb to push the Longhorns to a 21-20 lead on Jaxon Hart’s PAT. But Bahr scored from five yards out with just over a minute left to hold on.

Kadyn Reyes threw for a pair of touchdowns, and scored on an 11-yard run during a 20-0 spurt in the fourth quarter as the Bees tied up the Bears in the Battle for the Golden Spike.
Preston Wilkinson had three touchdown passes, including a 17-yard strike to Eli Braegger with 5:16 left in the third quarter that helped Bear River take a 34-30 lead after three quarters in the bid for the oldest traveling rivalry trophy in Utah high school football.
But Reyes found Pierre Pierren from four yards out with 3:24 in the fourth, and Judd Howells’ 2-yard TD with 2:14 remaining helped the Bees hold on for the rivalry win.
Brady Muir completed four touchdown passes to help the Mustangs overwhelm the Wasps and improve to 2-0.
South Summit 45, North Summit 14
Brody Larsen scored on a pair of touchdown runs as the Wildcats upended the Braves with a 23-0 second-half run.
Brodie Scheinberg completed 20-of-33 passes for 222 yards and three touchdowns, including an 8-yard scoring strike to Oklahoma commit Bode Sparrow, as the Darts raced past the Silverwolves.
Briggs Taylor added 55 yards and a touchdown on 10 carries for Davis (1-1), who also got an 80-yard kick return touchdown from Sparrow in the win.
Calvin Cooper threw three touchdown passes to lead Fremont (1-1).
Cedar Valley 26, Elko (Nev.) 19
Cash Thacker threw for three touchdowns and ran for another as the Avaiators overcame a 7-0 first-quarter deficit to pull past the Indians.
McCrae Miles caught two touchdown passes for Cedar Valley (1-1), which got pair of touchdowns from Ryder Amador.
Ajay Thomas threw for two touchdowns and ran for three more as the Spartans palindrome’d the Dinos after a 29-7 halftime lead.
Layton Christian 21, Snow Canyon 7
Colton Johns completed three touchdown passes, and the Eagles (2-0) jumped out to a 14-0 halftime lead and never looked back in a win over the Warriors.
Dru Reuss threw for two touchdowns and ran for two others as the Spartans used a 35-0 halftime lead to roll by the Warriors.
The Trojans jumped out to a 14-0 halftime lead and never let up in a shutout of the Royals.
Brik Barlow threw for three touchdowns and ran for two others as the Falcons blew past the Cougars to improve to 2-0.
Marshall Draper scored on a 90-yard pick-six with 3:17 left in the third quarter to help the Wasps pull away from the Lions for their first win of the year.
Bryson Downard scored on a 95-yard kick return for Juab (1-1), and Teagen Anderson added a blocked kick for a touchdown in the second quarter.
Justice Taulor threw three touchdown passes to lead Payson (1-1).
Judge Memorial 13, Ben Lomond 7
Owen Higgins’ 28-yard touchdown run with 9:36 left in the fourth helped the Bulldogs survive the Fighting Scots.
Adrian Vanecos scored on an 85-yard kick return 15 seconds later to pull one back for Ben Lomond (0-2), but the Scots could get no closser.
Will Bauman found Zamiri Vaughn for two of his three touchdown passes as the Rams used a 30-6 halftime lead to get by the Wolverines for their first win of the year.
Ryder Paea scored two rushing touchdowns to lead Hunter (0-2).
Rigby Young threw for three touchdowns and caught another to help the Bears keep the Beetdiggers winless.
Beckham Meredith caught two touchdown passes for Summit Academy (1-1).
The Summit Academy passing game was alive and well tonight as Rigby Young threw for 4 TDs including 3 to one of the most under rated receivers in the state in Beckham Meredith.

Enterprise 28, South Sevier 12
Brannoc Davidson caught a 24-yard touchdown pass from Jack Moyle with 4:59 left in the fourth quarter to help the Wolves end the game on a 28-6 run and beat the Rams.
North Sanpete 22, Deseret Peak 21
Chaetton Osborne scored on a 5-yard run to set up Trevon Mann’s winning 2-point conversion in overtime as the Hawks stayed unbeaten with a win over the Golden Eagles.
Andrew Harris threw a pair of touchdown passes for Deseret Peak (0-2).
Filisi Filipe ran for four touchdowns, and Hayes Priest hauled in a 50-yard touchdown pass from Bryson Sweeney with three seconds left as the Mustangs stayed unbeaten with a thrilling win over the Stallions.
Brighton Reuzel threw three touchdown passes for Stansbury (1-1).
Bryson Barnes returned an interception 34 yards for a touchdown, and threw a 32-yard TD strike to Ian Williams as the Falcons stayed unbeaten with a win over the Flyers.
Vagaimauga Sagote threw for two touchdowns for Dixie (0-2).
Carter Vance ran for his second touchdown during a 21-6 fourth-quarter spurt as the Bruins (1-1) topped the Buffaloes (1-1).
Tavake Wolfgramm scored on a 60-yard run with 2:43 left in the third quarter as the Vikingsn (1-1) pitched a shutout win over the Thunder (1-1).
Easton Favero threw for five touchdowns, and Mason Birch ran for two more as the Grizzlies stayed unbeaten with a win over the Indians.
Carter Payne found Creed Devries for a 13-yard touchdown with 2:44 remaining to help the Warriors slip by the Bengals for their first win of the season.
Devries hauled in three of Payne’s four touchdown passes for Weber (1-1).
Griffin Matsumori connected with Easton Gustafson for three touchdowns for the Bengals (1-1).
Spanish Fork 33, Salem Hills 28
James Buck scored his fourth touchdown on a 24-yard run with 5:58 remaining as the Dons outlasted the Skyhawks for their first win of the year.
Cash Hollingshead ran for a touchdown and three for three others, including two to LJ McBride to lead Salem Hills (1-1).
Tate Johnson ran for two touchdowns, and Tu’i Will’s 32-yard TD grab with 2;12 remaining helped seal the Eagles’ win in the Battle for the Rock.
Sam Ngata returned an interception 39 yards for a touchdown, and caught a 7-yard TD strike from Preston Ferran to lead Olympus (1-1).
Mason Tidwell caught two touchdown passes to lift the Redhawks to their first win of the season over the Phoenix (1-1).
Luke Rector connected with Nash Bockwoldt on an 11-yard touchdown in the first quarter, and the Tigers’ defense did the rest to keep the Lakers winless.
Coy Doman threw for 407 yards and four touchdowns, including 145 yards and two scores to Carter Buchanan to help the Panthers hold off the Reds in a shootout.
American Leadership 30, Parowan 27
Mason Ober ran for two touchdowns and threw for another, and Cooper DuPaix found Carter Crandall for a 2-yard score with 19 seconds remaining as the Eagles squeezed by the Rams.
Diesel Dart scored a touchdown rushing and receiving, and pulled down two interceptions as the Chargers rolled to a 2-0 start with a win over the Thunderbirds.
Jaxon Pehrson completed three touchdown passes for Corner Canyon.
Tanoai Andresen threw for three touchdowns, and the Mustangs used a 24-0 second-half run to pull past the winless Bulldogs.
Crew Allred completed two of his three touchdown passes to Dawson Dunlevy, then found Dawson Dunlevy with a 20-yard TD strike with 1:15 remaining to rally the unbeaten Cowboys by the Wildcats.
Brigg Palmer rushed for five touchdowns, and the Broncos used a 23-6 second quarter to cruise by the winless Beavers.
Water Canyon 50, Beaver Dam (Ariz.) 34
The Wildcats jumped out to a 30-14 halftime lead and never looked back in the win over the Diamondbacks.
Tillman Thomas threw a pair of touchdown passes to Carter Hughes to help the Lancers keep the Knights winless.
Hurricane 49, Moapa Valley (Nev.) 20
Titan Borchardt ran for three touchdowns in the Tigers’ win over the Pirates.
Mater Dei (Calif.) 31, American Fork 11
The Monarchs kept the Cavemen out of the end zone en route to a 17-3 halftime lead to cruise to the win.
Jake Matsen found Cash Taiese to pull one back for American Fork (1-1) with 4:19 left in the third quarter. But Mater Dei used a 14-0 fourth quarter to pull away for good.
Wilkes Weston ran for three touchdowns, and Brayden Stokes added two more on the ground as the Rebels ran past the Tigers to stay unbeaten.
Braxton Hansen scored a pair of rushing touchdowns to lead Milford (1-1).
