SALT LAKE CITY – Week 7 didn’t disappoint as high school football teams across Utah laid the groundwork for a playoff push.

Davis came from behind in the Game Night Live Game of the Week, but plenty of storylines will keep prep football fans busy.

Region 1

Davis 49, Syracuse 35 ⭐ Game Night Live Game of the Week

Syracuse came out firing, trading blows with Region 1 rival Davis into the second half, but Ledger Wight and Co. couldn’t keep pace with Bode Sparrow, Jaxton Itaaehau and the high-scoring Darts. Sparrow and Itaaehau each scored three times, including a Catch of the Year candidate from Oklahoma Sooner-committed Sparrow.

Weber 30, Layton 23

Weber showed real grit in scoring the final 13 points to finish a comeback win over Layton. Warriors QB Carter Payne threw for a touchdown and ran for another in the victory.

Region 2

Westlake 15, Copper Hills 9

Westlake fell behind 6-0 after a Grizzlies touchdown and a missed extra point, but the Thunder scored the next 15 points to take down Copper Hills. Sua Slone and Ashton Taylor scored touchdowns for Westlake.

Riverton 7, Mountain Ridge 56

Mountain Ridge dominated Riverton Friday night in a 49-point mauling. Bennett Neilson caught two of Jaxon Hunt’s seven TD passes.

Cedar Valley 7, Bingham 49

American Fork found a way to take down Lone Peak in a back-and-forth slobber-knocker. Cash Taiese’s third touchdown catch of the night came with 19 seconds left and lifted the Cavemen to the four-point victory.

Corner Canyon 27, Skyridge 37

A pair of first-half pick-sixes helped the Skyridge Falcons overcome powerhouse Corner Canyon in a slugfest. Beckham Bennett scored two rushing touchdowns for Skyridge.

Region 4

West 71, Taylorsville 7

Undefeated West put on a Thursday night show, scoring 57 first-quarter points and forcing a mercy-rule-aided 64-point win. Lester Falatea scored times as eight different Panthers found the end zone.

Cyprus 17, Granger 36

Granger running back scored rushing touchdowns from six yards, eight yards, and 19 yards out in the Lancers 19-point victory over the Pirates.

Kearns 0, Hunter 45

Hunter took full advantage of the struggling Cougars in a shutout win. Hunter QB Sione “Isi” Moungaafi threw three touchdown passes and ran for a fourth.

A 35-point first half helped lift Spanish Fork over Payson. Dons running back James Buck scored three rushing touchdowns, and Nixon Warren added a trio of touchdown catches,

Springville 32, Maple Mountain 6

Springville (5-2) jumped out to a 25-0 halftime lead before a slow second half. Red Devils QB Beckett Burton threw two touchdown passes and ran for another.

Orem 17, Timpview 14

Defenses controlled the second half as Orem held on for the three-point win. Brooks Ross and Tanner Lewis connected for two touchdown passes.

Region 8

Uintah 21, Park City 42

The Miners doubled up Uintah while scoring the final 22 points. Josh Hoffer ran for two touchdowns and threw for another in the Park City victory.

Deer Creek 0, Timpanogos 37

Timpanogos smothered winless Deer Creek in a blowout. Four Timberwolves scored a rushing touchdown in the decisive victory.
