Salt Lake County High School Player of the Week – Week 4 – Jaxon Hunt

The Hercules Salt Lake County High School Player of the Week is celebrating the best high school football player in Salt Lake County. Presented by Hercules First Federal Credit Union, each week we honor athletes for their exceptional performance on the gridiron. Our winner this week was Mountain Ridge quarterback Jaxon Hunt.

Salt Lake County Player of the Week – Jaxon Hunt, Mountain Ridge

Jaxson Hunt and the Mountain Ridge Sentinels continue their perfect campaign, now sitting at 4-0 and kicking off region play with a dominant performance over the Cedar Valley Aviators. The senior quarterback for the Sentinels threw seven first half touchdowns in a 59-0 win to start region play. Jaxon finished the night with 312 passing yards and seven touchdowns. Halfway through the first quarter, Jaxson Hunt and Tytan DeJong connected on a 40-yard touchdown pass for the first score. Xander Thayer 24-yard touchdown pass to the endzone for Jaxon’s second touchdown. Jordan Classenn finished off the first quarter with a 16-yard reception from Jaxon for the third touchdown.Mountain Ridge continued to show off the aerial attack against the Aviators when Marshall West would take in a passing touchdown from Jaxon for his fourth of the night. Marshall and Jaxson would connect for two more touchdowns later in the second quarter for passing touchdowns number five and six on the night for Jaxon. Tytan DeJong reeled in another pass as well in the second quarter to cap off a seven touchdown first half performance from Jaxson Hunt. Mountain Ridge took a 56-0 lead into the halftime break, and added a field goal in the third quarter to put the final cherry on top for a region victory.
